What is your teaching style?

How do you make learning engaging?

I focus on getting to know my students, understanding their experiences and building positive relationships. I share my own PK-12 teaching experiences, both positive and negative, to illustrate ideas. This practice engages students and opens me up to them in a way that is personal and helps build connections. In this comfortable setting, students feel free to share their own thoughts, 提出问题, and challenge assumptions, all of which lead to greater opportunities for learning. Students have remarked that our Ed. Psych class is “like a family.” I believe that compliment speaks to the positive and engaging climate of our classroom.

What should students know about you?

I am a morning person. Be ready to jump right into learning, even at 8:00 AM. I am always going to ask you to tell me more and to dig deeper. I care about all of the facets of your lives, not just your academics. I really do love it when you stop in my office just to chat. I am here to support you and to help you grow to become the educator you wish to be.
